For diverses circumstances Africa representatives
and others of Asia could not participate.
The group carried out an exhaustive work
that included: the current situation of
the campaign, the Southern Peoples Ecological
Debt Credits Alliance (SPEDCA), ecological
debt in Jubilee South , FOEI, organizations
that have been working on this topic. It
also debated on the concept, the scope of
the position, actors, strategies. Finally
it was defined the general objective of
JADES group, specific objectives and action
plan for next year.
The plan includes: elaboration of a consensus
position paper (in Mumbai), lobby with political,
participation in international conferences,
introduction of DE concept in other networks,
NGOs and academic, investigations and workshops,
JADES web page, diffusion materials. Vodo
proposes to organize a Tribunal of Ecological
Debt in Brussels.
